Chữ Việt Trí is an alternative alphabet for Vietnamese invented by Tôn Thất Chương. After many years of studying the Vietnamese history, culture, civilization and language. Tôn Thất Chương's goal is to illuminate the ancient roots of the Vietnamese civilization more than four thousand years ago. During this study, Tôn Thất Chương was inspired by various spiritual blessings from above such as God, Buddha and Ancestors. Tôn Thất Chương invented the Chữ Việt Trí alphabet in order to serve the Vietnamese people and to make Vietnamese language more profound.
The name “Chữ Việt Trí“ which means the “Vietnamese Intelligent Alphabet” was invented during the year of the Dragon in 2012. Tôn Thất Chương taught Chữ Việt Trí to his family and friends. He also uses it to write prayer books, poems, and proverbs that he posts on the Chữ Việt Trí Facebook. He encourages the use of Chữ Việt Trí for writing calligraphy (thư pháp), in novels and diaries, to communicate in secret, for intelligent letter games, and for literary and religious functions.
Tôn Thất Chương hopes that his Vietnamese people will support him, help spread his alphabet abroad, as well as learn and teach Chữ Việt Trí to all people in Vietnam along with Vietnamese people overseas to students in all schools. It is very easy and simple to write as it displays a very elegant and artistic script. It is one of the most important inventions in the Vietnamese civilization. Tôn Thất Chương would like to someday see Chữ Việt Trí become an official script with Chữ Quốc Ngữ because it is a Vietnamese invention as well as a Vietnamese national pride.
