- The circle is just a placeholder and have no further meaning. In the consonant/final tables, it represents a rhyme and in the tone table, it represents the initial-rhyme group.
- The tones are vertical if the initial is above the rhyme, horizontal if the initial is on the left. If the initial covers the rhyme, the tones can be in either places.
- The rightmost two tones are used in loanword transliterations.
- Dictionary order is showed by the arrows. The priority is:
+ Initials
+ Rhymes (nuclei -> finals -> medials (no medials first, i.e. ơ comes before uơ, then uâ, oă, a, oa, ia, uya, i, uy,... )
+Tones (usual tones first, then loanword tones).
